Title: SOLD Time Pilot - $125 - not such a great deal after all!
Post by: arzoo on November 18, 2008, 08:07:50 am
My friend is selling his Time Pilot relatively cheap. Located about 30 minutes west of Philly.

Damn, that cab appears worth it without a working monitor.

He's about to let it go to some guy for $100. The market for arcade games seems to be in the dumps these days - no surprise what with the economy and all.

That cab appears to be in pretty spanky condition.

I hadn't notice that. Still a very nice price.

It was sold for $100. The guy who picked it up had trouble getting his Ford Explorer into gear and ending up breaking the shift lever off the steering column  :o. That cost him $1200 - so the Time Pilot wasn't such a great deal after all  ::).

Just curious - do you know who bought it?  I know a guy locally that has been looking for one for years.  I sent him the link to this thread, but never heard a word about it.

I believe the guy's name was Ray.

Hahahahh, oh man that's comedy. While replacing a shifter handle shouldn't cost that much even at the dealership (maybe I'm wrong?...or maybe since they're so poor now they do??), automatics in such circumstances do require some finesse. Or sometimes a good push or rocking back and forth while trying to unjam the tranny.

TOK - thanks for that link. All I can say is WOW. And on top of all the damage to the car, the Time Pilot's monitor went bad during transport (on its side) - we played it just before he loaded and the monitor was fine. That guys was crazy to drive an hour with no brake lights and a transmission stuck in drive.  :dizzy: :dizzy: :dizzy:

The problem with the monitor is probably just caps or a solder joint.  Not a big deal.
