Title: Cup Holders
Post by: Visitor Q on November 17, 2008, 02:27:15 pm
I am considering cup holders for my cab once I get it.

Any pix or recommendations?

I did a search on here and saw the flip out ones as well as the ones Happs offers.

I like the first one that folds away.  However, both of them require that you put holes in the side of your cab.  Are you sure you want to do this?

I'm usually not a cupholder fan, but I went with 'em on the Neo mini. Just seemed to fit.

Fold downs are my preference but unfortunately my cab wont accommodate them  :'(.

LOL @ amerish............. As Lando says "Colt45, works every time".

i have fold down cup holders on my cabinet, i got them at walmart for $3 each.  they work OK, they hold cans pretty well, no glasses though.  I"m assuming glass bottles would work OK, but i don't drink (alcohol), so i cannot confirm that.

I'll have to check Walmart. I have two "blind" spots on my CP that I think are perfect for either of these, basically my CP extended about 4 inches past the cab on either side, so the back of the CP is a perfect spot.  I see the flip versions dimensions is 4", I'd just need to trim the t-molding a bit in that area. Interesting.

The flip cup holders look great but jeez, they look fragile, but it's very cool how they fold away and because of the location on my cab, most wouldn't even notice them unless they were in use.

Can anyone please tell me the footprint on the non-flip version?  Thanks.

Bicycle water bottle cages!!!  http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=66908.0;attach=75556;image

They come various colors, they're easy to mount, they're rugged, there are a ton of designs out there & you can find a variety in any bike store...

(I've since moved mine from the side of the cabinet to the back face of the control panel.)

I have these.  They are nice because unlike the other cup holders, they can expand to hold highball and small cocktail glasses in addition to cans/bottles.  Of course they also fold out of the way when you don't use them.  My cabinet is also black, so they don't really stick out.  There is nothing like grabbing a swig of beer in between levels of classic games.

Honestly I think these look great after seeing them install even more so than the fold downs which look kinda cheap. I do like that they fold down though...

40oz.!  Damn, now that's awesome!

amerish... Could you post up some pix?

Just bought two of the happ cup holders from DM.  Hopefully they will fit on the back end of my CP overhang facing the wall.  I usually drink beer from frosty mugs so I needed the ones with the cutout for the mug handle.

You may not like as large a cp as mine but if you have the real estate on your board, inset cup holders work nice for me.

they sell them here:

Isnt that what pinballwizard was wanting to do with his cupholders?  I think it looks great.  I like big panels.

Yeah Flake that's exactly what I was wanting to do but then my arcade was compared to a Mazda  ;D

Thats it, I am totally getting those things..............10 units for $25 on ebay including shipping so it looks like there will be some leftover ammo for my wall mount drink shelf.

Teknique I like the panel broseph!

YAY for huge arcades!!!!!!!
