Title: Help me identify this 8-way trigger joystick...
Post by: arzoo on November 16, 2008, 12:02:00 pm
Does anyone recognize what game this 8-way trigger joystick was used for? I purchased it as NOS - it uses leaf switches. I'd like replace the handle with Randy's new Tron replacement handle (http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=91&products_id=319) - but I'm concerned the mounting screws won't work. The original Tron stick (and Randy's) has two screws holding the shell together through the shaft. My stick has a single screw through the shaft and appears to have two additional vertical screws at the bottom. I guess I could disassemble the stick, but I'd rather just find an exploded view - any idea's?

Looks like a Mach 3 stick to me

Yeah, same one I have. I only see the two screws underneath the bottom of the handle. Except for the mounting holes, the overall design is the same as the Tron/GGG/Happ (http://happcontrols.com/joysticks/50997000x.htm) handles. Maybe ask Randy if this will matter?

Ummon,
I sent Randy an email, but he really needs a picture of our handle disassembled. For me to do that would be a royal pain in the *ss - I'll have to remove my panel, and undo all the wires to get the stick separated from the base. Any chance you could provide a picture?

The thing is snapped together pretty tight. Have to be careful pulling it apart as the trigger and spring like to pop out.

Ummon,
Thanks for the pictures.
I see you also posted them on Randy's thread - unfortunately it doesn't look like our stick will work with his Tron handle.  :(
