My marquee area is roughly 8.5"x30" and I'm looking for something that will light it evenly.
My thinking is two side by side but is that too many or not enough?
Does anyone have some pics with one or two in their cab?
-
No one uses this product?
-
Before I would buy 2 of those and use them, I'd use a fluorescent light fixture.
-
I'm using one... but unfortunately, I can't comment too much as the marquee is the only thing missing from my project:

I have the UAII cabinet... at 25" wide. The NovaMatrix is mounted in the center about 10" back from the marquee.
The light seems bright enough and I figured that at 10" back, I wouldn't have any hot spots.
We'll see once I get a marquee.
I think that at 30" wide... you might want to use two.

I used one, but I should've used two, and mine is only 19.5" wide. In a dark room the light is adequate, but just barely. But, it's cool, easy to install, and will last forever.

I used adjustable angle flourescents in my neo cab from our local light store. They are actually under cabinet lights for kitchens and stuff like that. They can be hard wired or use standard plugs. Worked like a charm.

Thanks for the info.
How far back did you have it from the marquee?
I don't want to go florescent mainly because of space issues and I just want something maintenance free.
-
I'd guess they are about approx 4-6 inchesback from the marquees..you can see pics on my neo geo restoration topic..there are two of them in mine..

edit double post oops

It's mounted about 8" back from the marquee. and a little higher than center vertically (I had to get over the speakers). I played around with different positions, adjusting for the output angle, and that seemed to work the best.

Do people really have to maintain their fluorescent marquee fixtures that often? I've had a cheapo $7 one behind my marquee for over 5 years now with no problems. I've heard people here saying they burn out constantly. Maybe I just got lucky? :dunno
-
Even if mine did burn out they are easily accessible on the neo cab because the whole top of the cabinet opens up from the front. I really don't think it's much of an issue unless you have to take apart alot of your cab just to get at them.

I use one in mine and it looks great.
Check out this video here on "How to install a marquee". You'll see it there.

Also, here's a pic of it with the lights off:

Works great for me.

Thanks delusional. How wide is your cab?
-
I'm housing a Betson 27" arcade monitor in there. I managed to squeeze it into a 25" cab. I don't know the exact measurements of the cab itself, but the monitor is 235" wide.
The marquee's dimensions are 24.5" x 7.75".
