Title: Difference among clones?
Post by: Nil8er on June 17, 2003, 12:57:39 pm
Does anyone know if there is a way to tell the difference between clones (ie if/how they are different)?  As an example Street Fighter II has about 7 clones just for the US and 3 clones for Japan.  How are these clones different from each other?  Is there a file that describes the difference?
Thanks!

i believe www.Mame.dk when you check out the Detail of a ROM they usually have an explaination.

i dunno if this is what you wanted to know tho.
if theres a file that tells the diffrence that would be cool tho.

Mame.dk doesn't seem to explain the differences among the Street Fighter II clones.
Does anybody know what the differences are between the 7 clones of Street Fighter II?

Go to www.Klov.com and Mame.dk and you can find out some of the differences. Some of the clones of street fighter 2 are actually different versions or blackmarket hacks that were sold. Klov explains most of them. It's not going to tell you the difference between like US 920313 and US 920513. Those are usually bug fixes or something applied to the game no change in the actual play of the game.
