Title: Scrolling up & down in a game list vs. in info window

A quick question on scrolling in MaLa (I'm using 1.0.4.5).

I've got "Use mouse" checked in the Controller/Mouse tab so that I can use my spinner(s) to spin through my game list.

However, when I pull up the info window & it has more contents than can be displayed on the screen at once, the spinner does not scroll the text.

I tried turning joystick scrolling back on by going into the Controller/Keyboard/Basic tab & setting "1 up" to a joystick up & "1 down" to a joystick down. Now the joystick also scrolls the games & does succeed in scrolling the text in the info window.

Can you (or have you already...?) make it so that, when using the mouse to navigate a MaLa game list, it can also scroll the info window?

Post by: jasonbar on November 16, 2008, 08:21:09 pm: Actually, while you're in there (in the code, that is...), can you also make it so that the "letter up" & "letter down" command makes the info window scroll? That would give users several options on scrolling that info window's contents. They might have their hands on the letter or game up/down controls, or they might be using a spinner & a letter up/down stick or buttons...

+1 for those of us (as few as they may be) who have swappable or modular panels. If I have my spinner/trackball panel I have no way of scrolling this window.

I just tried this with my mouse moving up and down and it moved the text.

I am now confused by the request.?

Does your spinner move up and dopwn of left/right?

Yah, works just great...I pull up the info window & then (for games with much info text) I can indeed scroll up & down with my spinner (same spinner used to scroll through games)...

Did this change sometime in the last year without you/me knowing about it? :-[

OK, joystick is now disabled on my panel--all browsing done w/ spinners--w00t! Clean!

PS--both of my spinners move the cursor left/right, not up/down. The trackball scrolls the info text when rolled left/right but not up/down. Works for me!

You might have some settings/ dip switches on your spinner to set that. You can on mine.

Either way under controller / mouse you can swap it around
