Okay, here's the story. I started a business a few years ago that I've been simply too busy to follow thru on (kids take up a lot of time). I still have my reseller account from my distributor, however.
They have recently changed their rules. If I don't place an order with them every six months, they'll oust my account, and it'll cost me $100 to get a new account.
I was just going to buy a $2 mouse, but seriously, thats kinda silly. So, if anyone wants any current technology, let me know either by posting in this thread, or via PM, I can get it for close to wholesale.

How much would an 802.11b PCI card or USB attachment cost?
Also, can you get memory, motherboards and processors too?
If so, I'd be interested in an AMD setup. Whatever I can get for cheap.
-
slight interest in a 100GB harddrive if teh price is right
-
I've might be in the market for a :
P4 2.2 Motherboard/CPU combo
P4 powersupply
memory
Case
(Basicly a P4 2.2 system)
Poor little white boy, just scrapping together parts to make a system... lol ;D
You might consider throwing a little catalog together so you don't get a lot of "do you think you could get ?". And a price list would save you some time too.....
Just my 2 pennies.... :)

I can get just about anything. Anything specific? Brand/make/model, etc?

I've got a line on a Seagate Barracuda ATA V. It's 120 G, 7200 RPM (model ST3120023A), and I can get it to you for $120, plus shipping.

Well, I can get just about anything, so I'm not too worried.
What I would like from people is specifics they're looking for. I can still provide recommendations for stuff, but specifics will get a quick response.

Thanks though.

What would you consider good for this drive? I don't offer rebates, as I'm not a store. If you're looking for a 120G drive for like $30, you should check out http://www.fatwallet.com/forums/ they always have drives for cheap after rebates/price matching/etc.
-
Sorry, I misunderstood you. I thought you were just trying to make a minimum order to keep a wholesalers lisence or something. So I figured you could get those crazy discounts. I will be getting a harddrive after checkin out the deals on fatwallet, Thanks

That's exactly what I'm doing, but I could order a mouse to do it. I figgered I'd share with my bretheren stuff I can get.
No problem, Fat Wallet away.

could you list the types and prices of the motherboards you carry? very very interested.

That's just it - I don't CARRY anything. I can get stuff at wholesale prices. If you have a particular board, or anything for that matter, in mind, PM me or post here, and I'll give you a price.
If you're looking for a type of motherboard, let me know, I'll give you a recommendation.

I've got other drives to offer, this one just stuck out. It looks very popular as they currently have like over 5000 in stock.

I've never used the Baracudas, but believe it or not I'm an 'Offical Segate Reseller' whatever that means. I filled out a form on the Seagate site, and they send me info on new products every couple weeks or so.

Asus has a great board right now, an all-in-one board. The A7N8X Deluxe.
Here's a blurb from my distributor: "With an array of advanced technology, the A7N8X Deluxe provides a revolutionary audio/video experience. AGP Pro/8X, doubling the bandwidth of AGP 4X, provides cutting-edge graphics performance while Dolby digital 6-channel support brings incredible sound quality. Onboard 1394/USB 2.0 interfaces further enable smooth audio/video data transfer between DV/MP3 players and systems. In addition, Dual-Channel DDR400 and Serial ATA technology significantly enhance overall system performance, while a dual LAN design and Windows' native Internet connection streamline your networking platform."

Aparently, my distributor does not carry Shuttle brand.
For the processor, see above for a quote on a 2.4.
nb: I ususally deal in Athlon stuff, almost exclusively. As such, I'm not up on Intel numbers as much as I used to be. What is the significance of the letter after the speed, ie 2.4b, 2.4c etc?
-
Price check: Athlon XP 2100 CPU.
Also, wondering what my be available in AMD CPU motherboard combos.

$107 on www.pricewatch.com
PEALE, i dunno about these "Wholesale" prices. You might want to make sure the people you get wholesale from aren't middle men, cause it looks like your quoted prices are more than what anyone can go buy these items by going to www.pricewatch.com
Not trying to be negative in anyway. Appreciate your offer. Just be sure that you aren't getting "screwed."

AMD Athlon XP 2100+ - $80 (plus shipping)
Oh well, at pricewatch i can get this WITH shipping included for $64. Thanks anyway.

These are OEM CPUs, and the one I mentioned is retail packaging. The first one on Pricewatch that is not OEM goes for $162.

Like I said, retail packaging. That way, full warranty comes with the hardware.

First price for a retail I find is $69. I'm not buying in lots of 1000, so unfortunately I can't compete with these prices.

Also, every time I pursue a good price on Pricewatch, there's a catch. Dude, if you don't like his prices stop riding his jock...
Peale, this is why I advocate never "doing business" on a public forum. If people want prices, ask them to email/pm you.

It's funny, I didn't think I was doing business here, but in all reality, I suppose I am.

How much for an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro?

Hey, not trying to "RIDE HIS JOCK" man. just saying..in his first post he said he had "wholesale" prices for us, and it does not look too wholesale to me. that's all.
no harm no foul.

I said CLOSE to wholesale, and I could get better prices if I bought in mass quantity. Since I'm only one guy, buying maybe one of a particular product, I can't get these fantastic 'mass merchant' prices. Those of you in business will agree.
-
Like Peale, i've tried my hands at computer sales as well. I can tell his prices do sound right for wholesale prices. As he mentioned, he could get better prices if he bought in high quantities, but even then the price doesn't decrease much. With the exception of Newegg and a couple others, most of the stores on pricewatch have a good/great deal on one or maybe a couple items. Again, Newegg and a couple others, are the only stores that have great prices all around. The truth of the matter is, most of the other resellers on pricewatch are paying right around what Peale has said. They price certain good selling items at a loss in hopes that if that get you to buy that item, maybe you'll buy something else as well. You'd be very surprised to see how low a profit margin per item there is for about most resellers. This is dealing with the big 3 wholesalers, not middlemen. I'm not saying you should or shouldn't buy from him, just clearing the air about wholesale prices. Peale obviously had good intentions here. Besides, there still might be a deal on some items. Out of curiosity Peale, were you an ASCII member?

I think it is very generous of Peale to offer to help those who want better prices on direct from the factory items (As opposed to the often factory refurb, overstock etc... you often get fromt he ultra low internet places. You can always find a cheaper price on the internet, places like pricewatch, eBay etc.. can be a great place to try and get lower prices but it does come with a risk, I've used pricewatch exactly 3 times and every time there have been problems with substitution, a item that turned out to be a factory refurb and a plain BS price. The computer industry is a very competitive market with low margins so when somthing is sold near cost its not that much of a discount since theres not alot of markup anyway. I have an account with a major hardware wholesaler and have extremely good pricing and when I checked the prices they weren't much lower than what Peale is offering. I think people should be more grateful of his offer to share.

Hey all, hope i didn't start something here. I too appreciate his offer. I said so in a previous post. I think it is great of him to offer what he can to the BYOAC community. I was just questioning some of the quoted "wholesale" prices. Sorry if i offended anyone. I am just trying to find the best deal, like everyone else. ;)
Game On!

Out of curiosity Peale, were you an ASCII member?
Thanks for your words, Kevin.
I've been in quite a few organizations before, lost track of more than I can think of. What is the ASCII you speak of?
-
ASCII is an organization that helps you get better prices from the 3 major computer wholesalers. I think membership was $100 a month, and you were supposed to get the same prices from wholesalers that companies that the much larger stores are getting. I'm not sure if thats really the case since i have no idea what prices these stores are getting their stuff for, but i can tell you that when I joined ASCII, my wholesale prices dropped by alot. What ASCII does basically is negotiate with the big wholesalers so that their members get much better deals. So instead of having to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars with the wholesalers to get good pricing, you just had to be an ASCII member. The reason i asked, was your prices seem to be right around what mine were when i was an ASCII member. I know before i joined ASCII, my wholesale pricing was discouraging to say the least. It was almost retail price, it was ridiculous. Magnet_Eye, i hope it didn't seem that i was jumping all over you about it, i was more just trying to clear the air and get the truth out. You were just stating what you noticed. No harm, no foul.

Ah, I heard about these blokes. No, not a member. Everything I get, I get from TechData. I was going with Ingram Micro as well, but their prices were WAY above what I could get from TechData, so I dropped them.
