You just keep on helping thanks alot. I'm using mame32 .70 and i have/had a working copy of area 51 and some other games and for whatever reason mame would find them. I have tried an older version, redownloaded the rom sets and everything else I can think of. I will try another version of mame, but I am at a lost.

ok, mame32.  For those games do you 1) have any parent/bios rom needed 2) any hard drive images

Get romcenter or clrmame to see if you have everything needed for a particular rom.

Yeah it says it's good and there but still can't find it. I look under published year, under vender and under game. This is so odd.

Try turning off your custom filters.  Maybe there's something there that it doesn't like for some reason.

some times with MAME32 i have to go to ALL GAMES and then find it in the list, double click it, and then it loads
and after that it will be in my Availible ROMs list.

try that.

maybe this will help.

I used rom center said it was good. No reds or yellow all green. Tried to play through rom center, but it just sits there. Rom Center says good but when I go to all games in mame 32 click but now I get a .chd error. redownloading the file doesn't help. Am I missing a disk image possibly?

you got the CHD file, say the ROM was Killer Instict, the zips called KINST.zp, so you would put the CHD file inside of say c:\MAME\ROMS\KINST

is that where you have it?
