Title: Have I bought a fake Seimitsu LS-32 stick?
Post by: zoltar on November 04, 2008, 08:55:59 pm
I recently bought a Seimitsu LS-32 from starcab.net, and there are some strange things about it that makes me suspect that this isn't a real LS-32.  I was hoping someone could tell me if it's real or not.

(1) The holes in the mounting plate doesn't look like the holes I've seen in pictures of the LS-32.  It may be that there are a lot of mounting plate options, and if so, please let me know.  Here's a picture of my mounting plate:

(2) The microswitch terminals are not oriented in exactly the same way as the ones in other LS-32 pictures.  Again, here's a couple of pictures of the stick I received:

One more thing:  When I first got it, one of the four screws on top of the mounting plate wasn't screwed in straight.  This was because there wasn't a perfect fit between the holes in the mounting plate, and the holes in the blue plastic that it attaches to.  (I was able to make this a lot better by removing all four screws, and screwing each one a little bit while constantly alternating between them, making them go in in parallel.)

What do you guys think?  Is it possible that this is a fake LS-32 consisting of cheaper knockoff parts?

There are surely knock offs out there.  Does the name Seimetsu appear anywhere on the stick?

No, not that I can see.  Where should it be written?
