Title: (new price 12/17/08) FS: 7800 & 11 Games [US/CA/Pasadena]
Post by: jasonbar on November 04, 2008, 03:38:20 pm
[[[[Current price: $50]]]]

Howdy-

The 7800 has to go, due to space constraints after getting married.

Console tested working great.  A few minor cosmetic scuffs.

All games (except the shrinkwrapped one) tested working fine.

Both controllers' joysticks & buttons work fine.  1 controller has a cracked housing & doesn't clamp together fully--see pics.  Still plays fine.  The other controller's stick didn't register in the up direction, so I inserted a spacer under the PCB & now it's fine.

Includes original Atari AC adapter & a gold-tipped RCA cable w/ a coax adapter on 1 end.

Games included:
Asteroids [cart only]
Centipede [cart only]
Choplifter! [cart only]
Dig Dug [cart only]
Donkey Kong [cart only]
Food Fight [cart only]
Galaga [cart only]
Joust [cart only]
Ms. Pac-Man [cart only]
Ms. Pac-Man [still in original shrinkwrap!  Teeny hole in wrap above "Woman Of The Year!"]
Pole Position II [cart only]

Please make offers on part or all of the items--I'm unsure about their fair values.  I'll accept offers for a week or so & then sell these accordingly.  The system + cables + controllers stay as 1 lot & won't be split up.

OK, trying the "reverse auction" idea.  I'll put in a $55 price & lower it gradually until it's sold.

Wife laid down the law eh?  Bummer.

Good luck with the sale!

Eh, partly wife-law-laying-down & partly me realizing that I was just collecting for every darn system out there, when I really didn't care much for some of them, since I didn't have them as a kid or didn't really enjoy playing them today...

Anyway, bump!  :]

Thanks,
-J

You may want to post this over at the atariage.com forums as well. I've always had good luck selling Atari stuff there.

Dude, if you're just thinning the herd, the 7800 is one of the last I'd sell.  Very good system.  Underappreciated.

I know, I know, I'm probably speaking blasphemy, but I never had one in my youth, so it doesn't have a special place in my heart, as the 2600 does.  I did sit down & play all 11 of the games that I'm selling, using the fancy NES conversion controller pads, and the games were indeed pretty good.  Atari did a good job of getting simultaneous multiplayer versions out of old classics, which was a nice touch.  My wife is really into Nintendo-era puzzle games (Dr. Mario 64 is our game of choice), so I generally wouldn't have anybody to play 7800 with...

That's OK, I've still got 3 6ft stacks of tubs of systems in the garage--I've still got my arcade games, 3DO, 2600, 800, Jag, Jag CD, Lynx I & II, Intellivision, NES, SNES, N64, GC, 6 different Gameboys, Virtual Boy, SMS, Gen, Sega CD, 32X, Saturn, DC, PS1, PS2, Turbo Duo, & Vectrex...

But feel free to keep praising the 7800 so that I can get it sold!   ;)

Thanks,
-Jason

The 7800 was a victim of hte '84 crash.  It had so much more power... check out some of the recent homebrews for an idea of what that could really do.  That and the ColecoVision have some recent releases that rival a lot of NES games.

I've never had a working Sega CD or Jag CD... so if you pop those for sale let me know.

Thanks, Chad.  The SCD & JCD will stay put for now, mostly b/c I don' thave time to play/weed/sort them...

Anyway, price drop & bump!  See top post!

Thanks,
-J
