Title: Is there a game which uses 7 buttons?
Post by: Charles4400 on November 03, 2008, 03:41:12 pm
As I am starting to put together my first CP I am wondering why so many CPs I've seen have 7 buttons for player 1 & 2...

Which games actually use 7 buttons?
So I know if its worth taking up the real estate to add the 7th button!

Thanks!

They have 7 buttons to play Streetfighter II style fighters (2x3 buttons) and NeoGeo style fighters (4 buttons in a row) on one CP. If you don't mind playing NeoGeo style with one button on the second row, 6 will do fine.

I like the 7 button layout for games like NBA Hangtime.

I make the turbo button the 7th using 4 & 5.

Some people like the 7 button layout for mortal kombat 3/4 dash button, even though the gameuses six buttons.  Defender is another game that some feel the 7 button layout helps.

The 7 button layout isn't because some game uses 7 buttons, more for convenience.
