Iv just finished mapping the keys for my keyboard hack but i keep thinking im missing a key.
any1 know of a key im missing?
key 1 = start
key 5 = coin
key p = pause
key esc = exit
key ctrl = button 1
key alt = button 2
key space = button 3
key shift = button 4
key z = button 5
key x = button 6
im only using 6 buttons for the main thing am i missing anything else?

There's no "any" key.
Seriously though you have missed key 2, which is 2 player game start.
-
also you are going to get sick of the hack. you'll want to get an encoder or do a gamepad hack.
-
Nah only a 1 player cab its only a $400 project and i think i did ok but its not the best arcade cab ever :( ok well still its all good :)
i could add 2 players but i dont wanna spend $30 on 6 new buttons
but i relized what i had missed.....THE ARROW KEYS doh >:(
cant play without a joystick now can we hehe :D

As u see above i have show u the encoder and i have mapped the keys so all i have to do is solder from the buttons onto the encoder board :)
I got a older keyboard (IBM keyboard from a old 486 the ps/2 cable attaches to the socket)
so all i need to do is make sure i havent missed anything :)

No, I meant a keyboard hack will flake out once and awhile, even single player. A $5 gamepad hack might be better in the long run.
-
Nah this encoder board is solid ;D
besides i dont get any goasting with this anyway and a joystick hack aint my style
its all good :)
besides sometimes keyboard hacks r better ;)

You don't use "2" just for 2 player games, you also use it for say PacMan when you are playing someone else ( as in player 1 has their go and then player 2 has their go ). If you don't do it you will only be playing with yourself LOL
-
But i like playing with myself ;D
its only a 1 player cab and its not very big where the control panel is altho i dont need anything better :)
but im sure i have all the buttons i would need to play the arcade games and get in and out of gamelauncher
but i keep thinking i am missing something but im sure its all there
all 6 buttons
joystick directions
exit
start
coin
and pause buttons what else is there?
im making myself go in circles :-\

Don't forget that you can use shift buttons to make normal buttons do double duty.
My Artic Mini Mame only has 4 buttons total (Player 1 start, player 2 start, button 1 and button 2), but can still do everything because of shift keys.
-
so its like if u push shift and button 2 it will exit mame?
well if u push start and button 1it will exit kinda thing?
