Title: How hard would it be to convert a DKstyle cab into a DK?
Post by: Arcade82 on November 01, 2008, 06:40:56 pm
Say I bought a cabinet that was similar to Donkey Kong (maybe even donkey kong jr or dk3) and wanted to convert it to donkey kong or double donkey kong.. what would I need to do? Get a separate arcade board?

Also would it be hard to restore the controls using new Happ controls?

You can convert a DKJR or DK3 into DK. DK & DKJR are basically the same except for board set and art.
You just change board and art,(CPO,bezel, etc.) and your good to go,assuming you are using a 2 board set.
Converting DK3 is the same process except it uses the edge connector instead of individual board connectors.
The DK3 harness will work for DK. Hope this helps.
