Doesn't neccessarily have to have a Mac inside it, but the iTunes angle is admittedly nifty.
No - I just want the look - welded aluminum frame, frosted plexi. Except I can't weld. :(

The apple logo ruined it for me ;)
-
I don't like it personally.
It would be easy to make though, you don't necessarily need to weld the ally section, you could easily bolt it together.
-
So, what, get 4 pieces of aluminum, bolt them together to create the square base, then 2 longer sections, and bolt those to the base upright, and afix the monitor to those?
-
There you go, easy ;)
-
Don't believe him Numbski. Franco doesn't believe in easy...

Apple logo on arcade cabinet - lame. Otherwise, pretty cool.

Am I the only one going to say this? Why is this on Instructables? Whoohoo a picture of the builder standing next to the workbench, that's real ---smurfing--- useful. Clean up Instructables and put that on Flickr instead.
Sorry :dunno Otherwise, it's a rather nice cab.

I see a lot of that on Instructables.. just a few lame pictures. weak

It only deserves the Apple logo if it is CNC milled from 1 single block of alumnium!
-
So....if this is so easy, where do I get long sticks of aluminum? I can't cut it on a table saw, can I? What about drilling?
Come on then, you said it was easy. :P
-
Or I could just build an "Arcade Cabinet with Ambient Light Effects". :P Whatever. :laugh2:

I dont know what your hardware store carries but you can get all kinds of aluminium section at B&Q. Failing that you should be able to find a steel/metal merchant near you.
As for cutting, aluminium is very soft and you can easily hacksaw, drill etc it.
-
Hmmm... I can appreciate the work that went into making it but it's definitely not something I'd put in my house.
-
What's "B&Q"? :)
I have Ace Hardware, Home Depot, and Lowes here. :P
I guess I can go hunting for a metal merchant - I need to make a new frame for a 27" picture tube anyway. :)
-
B&Q is the UK equivalent to your Home Depot.
I would try to find a metal merchant if I were you. They should have a wider choice of bar stock and their prices should be better too.

A ---steaming pile of meadow muffin--- equivalent I may add! lol.
