hello folks, I am writing because I have an issue with a Nanao-MS8-29FSG (astro city) I think the problem is the flyback. the image is distorted and if I stretch the H.SIZE to the maximum it will loose the sync. I think it could be the flyback that is dying because it also makes a louder noise than usual. I can't identify the model name but here is a pic of the original one (made by murata) and a chinese version which looks exactly the same but not sure if compatible...oh yes and where can I buy it?

don't sound like a flyback fault to me,could be a cap in the sync circuit
also there is a custom sync module that causes very strange problems
have you a pic of the problem?
-
this is my chassis picture

same model but anotherone I have (broken)

and this is the issue (eerie noise produced from my camera...nothing to do with the monitor...).
if I stretch the H.size the image will be very deformed and then looses sync. I had the same problem before and solved it swapping the flyback so I thought this was the same case, eventually I have other chassis to steal parts from. I just need to fix one.

oh yes, thats strange-i will see if i can find any info on this

OK thank you!
now I decided to use an MS9 chassis and it works better but the V.POSI has some issues, it won't go lower than you can see in the video, it moves only a little bit up but the image will result deformed, if I turn it all the way up the top of the screen will become larger (like trapezoid).

also if I turn V.SIZE and make the image the smallest the screen will look like this ( ).
I thought it could be the small capacitor or some component on the remote board as it is in very bad shape, all the knobs are rusted and seems one is missing? anyway that is the only one I have. here is a pic:

that control board is very badly corroded,vr289 is not used
the pot you need to adjust the hour glass effect is vr450 SPC,vr453 for any trapezoidal distortion
-
I already tired those pots but they won't solve the problem. I have the same issue on 2 of this MS9 chassis and I am using the same remote control board so since it is very worn I thought that was the problem...
V.POSI has a very short movement and when I move the picture up it becomes a trapezoid.
anyway I think I should use the MS9 on that tube because it has the same yoke connectors.
-
what position is the width jumper on,cn506 or cn507?
-
normal position but in wide position it will do the same...actually I have two MS9 chassis and both do the same, so this might be normal? I am using the same control board on both though (I only have one). it even has a repair, looks like a diode...or is it original?

I would rather buy one in better conditions, anyone has one for sale?
-
whats the tube number and make?
-
hitachi A68KSA30X (d) on the frame there is a sticker that says MS9-29SU

http://img507.imageshack.us/img507/356/cimg6909vj4.jpg
anyway I tested both MS9 chassis I have on a toshiba A68KJU96X (4K) and they do exactly the same defect as on the hitachi!
I also tried to unsolder the small cap and that other thing under the control board but nothing changes at all..
-
let me check on of mine at work to see what should be what,i am sure there is a switch missing from your control as well for the sync
-
o.k checked a ms9 today and my panel is the same but does not have that resistor soldered on the back-try removing it
-
I found another control board in good conditions and still have the same problem, so I have this trapezoid deformation when I move the V.POSI on both my MS9 chassis with both my controllers, it must be the tube then but they do the same also on the original toshiba tube! could this be a common issue on the MS9? or maybe is it just normal? very strange though...anybody has an MS9?
-
i have ten cabs with ms9 and i do not have any problems like yours.
is the yoke in the correct position?
-
I still have this problem on both MS9, trapezoid will change when I move the vertical position...any clue? yes yoke is in the correct position.
