Post by: zorg on June 16, 2003, 05:50:13 am

Hi,

this will be a newbie question

I was wondering if it's possible to interface a crayola kidsball trackball to an opti-pac.
or if I have to stay with the USB/serial interface.

Not sure about the optipac aspect, but the kidsball is a serial device out of the box.  Can I ask why you want to go through an optipac?  It works fine if you just use the serial port.  I have one in my cabinet.  Just solder a few wires on the board to hook up some happs buttons to use as mouse buttons instead of the ones that come on the ball.

yes I know kidsball is just realy plug and play, even using linux ;)

why I want to go via the optipac ? cause it will do one wire less to pass trhu the CP. and my optipac will have slots free ;)

thanks.
