Title: Signal loss
Post by: anthony691 on June 15, 2003, 09:07:38 pm
I was wondering if I would lose signal if I ran a VGA cable from my computer about 25 ft to my cab? Would useing good, heavy cables for like a KVM be any help?

The better the cable, the more it can go without major signal degredation. Still, I think 25 foot is pushing it, you'd probably need some sort of amplifier to get good quality.

I use a 100ft vga cable from a matrox dual head card to a projector and have no signal issues. The picture looks just as clear and bright as when it's plugged in using a standard length cord.

Of course that 100ft cord cost 250.00 so it should be a pretty decent quality cord...
