For the Mame for mala.... they ask for 'command line mame'...
Is the 'Command Line Mame' that they ask for (A) regular mame (not ui) OR is it (B) 'Mame Windows Command Line Binaries' ? :dunno
Thanks!

This flavour works... Windows Command Line
http://mamedev.org/release.html (http://mamedev.org/release.html)

That page shows downloads for both regular mame and mame command line binaries....This is wht I was trying to differentiate in the orignal post ;D
I guess what I'm trying to ask is : is 'mame command line' the same as 'mame command line binaries'?
I think I found out that you don't download 'mame command line binaries' but just the regular mame...right ?(For Mala that is)?

I believe this (http://mamedev.org/downloader.php?&file=mame0128b.exe) is what you want.

Thanks Fatfingers! That is the one!
So I guess mame command line binaries is what mala needs!
Thanks All!!

Isn't that what I said? ???

Well, it's not really so. You can use UI, UIFX, etc. I do.

I'm sorry I was looking at that page completely wrong!
I incorrectly thought that there were 2 versions of mame on that page (I thought source code was a different version!) DOH! Don't know what I was thinking :dizzy:
Youre right you pointed me to the right and same place!
Sorry for the confusion this thread shouldn't exist! :banghead:

Wuh? You can use mameui for mala?

Sure, but you don't use the UI part of mameUI. (MameUI is normal mame plus a UI.) If you want, you can go to the command line, cd to the mameUI folder, type mameui gamename, much like you can with official mame.
But... since you aren't using the UI part, why mameUI at all. (Besides you already have it so you don't want to download the normal version too, or you don't feel like you know how to change mame's settings outside of mameUI's UI.)

I use it for a few reasons, the first of them being I started on Mame32 and if I want to do certain things or testing, or even just run non-native, I just select that as it's all set up. I've experiened no performance issues.
