Hi all,
As per title really, I understand the J-PAC screw terminals accept extra inputs for buttons 4-8 for two players, but button 3 for both players appears to be hooked into a kick harness.
What is the best way to get these working? Cut them from the kick harness and somehow wire them to the JAMMA harness?
Confused and crap with wires to should be interesting! :o

Anyone?? :-[

Are you sure this is wired JAMMA? Because three buttons per player should be in the harness.
Perhaps this is something custom. What is the game?

tekken 2 in a generic cab. Am I able to just wire the button 3s to the pins on the back of the jamma harness?

you can go either way, if you wire them into the JAMMA it becomes true jamma. Tekken 2 is a JAMMA+ because of its kick harness (just like Street Fighter II). If you wire it into the jamma then you also open up more inputs for the JPAC.

both players have buttons 5 and 6 as well so I'll probably wire 4,5 and six into the jpac and 3s on jamma as there isnt a terminal for 3 on the j-pac.
Do I need to solder to the jamma harness? Never soldered before!

The JPAC has screw terminals for switches 4,5,6,7, and 8 for both player one and two (and speaker +, - and ground)
so if you cant splice into the JAMMA harness then you can do a simple remapping in MAME and use the screw terminals . For example you can screw in the wires for button 3 into screw terminal 8, then remap button 8 to 3 in mame or whatever emulator you're using.
