Hi,
I have a PS2 I-PAC in my WinXP mame cabinet that most of the time works great. When I boot it up, I'm guessing 80% of the time it works fine. The other 20% of the time, the lights are on on the ipac, but the controls don't respond at all. Rebooting again usually seems to fix it, but at least once I've seen it need two reboots in a row. I never saw this problem when my cabinet was still under construction and I was just playing with just a keyboard.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Charlie :banghead:

Try swapping the PS/2 cable for a new one, and make sure it's plugged into the i-pac well (I know it's tight!) but take care not to crack anything. Also, be sure the socket on your motherboad is not damaged and that it is drawing the required 5v the i-pac needs. Lastly, check you have no touching connectors or bad earths.

This happens to me, and it's not an Ipac issue for me. Sometimes, when starting everything in my cabinet from a single switch (and with "Power On after failure" turned on), it fails to recognize the keyboard / Ipac and will give an error saying so. After a moment, it will continue into windows and I won't have a keyboard or Ipac. A restart solves this, and with my new PC, it has only happened twice, but with my old computer, it happened quite a bit.
