Hey all,
I'm trying to knock up my own custom layouts for Mala and need some pointing in the right direction!!
I'm a 100% total noob when it comes to artwork and it's very frustrating :(
I'm not looking to become an expert or be able to produce huge high quality pieces of work, for example, I just had some work done for my new CP and no matter how technically proficient I get I'll never be artistic enough to produce artwork in the same class as Waveryder has provided me, and for the price he charged I'll be happy to pay for all the important stuff!! :)
But I would like my own custom Mala, and the way I'm intending to set it up will require about a dozen individualy themed layouts. Can't possibly think about paying for a dozen different peices of work for a frontend!!
I've looked at the 'Artwork FAQ' and I've searched google for tutorials, but there are litterally thousands, and to be honest, because I'm such a noob I don't really know what I'm looking for!!!
All I really need to know how to do is cut characters/objects out cleanly so that I can rearrange them or put them onto new backgrounds, maybe resize them a bit, and possibly use some colour changing/filter type effects etc....
So... anyone know of any relevant tutorials or am I simply out of my depth??

OH!!!!! Suppose it helps to know that I've go Photoshop CS2 and I've downloaded Inkscape as per the art FAQ..... :)
