Title: Anyonye Using a MODDED 360 to ARCADE CONTROLLER?
Post by: TouchedArtist on October 10, 2008, 09:15:02 am
Hello all-  I was wondering if anyone out there was using a 360 wireless controller that was 'modded' into an arcade stick and if so, where did you get it?  (or did you build it on your own)

I'm tired of screwing up parts that I've ordered and I'm beginning to think that the dream of having my own arcade cabinet in my home is not going to happen :(

Thanks for your help

Haruman on these forums will do the hack for you at a price, send him a PM.

This is true.   ;D

Hacking fee is $45 a controller, shipped to the US. (plus the cost of the controller, or you can send me a controller to hack.)

My thread here has more details and some pictures: http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=76185.0 (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=76185.0)

Here's the controller I built with one of Haruman's hacks.

^^ I don't think I ever saw that before!  Cool!

And speaking of cool...  I'll bet your gonna be out working on the Ark this weekend, right?  Nice weather ahead.

My buddy Mark Oates hacked a couple controllers for me and I built 2 of these

They came out pretty good and work well with the Xbox360 wireless adapter for the PC.
That reminds me, I still need to see how Robotron looks on my new Vizio 32" monitor  :)

Looks like X, B, Y, A.

You are correct.  The second joystick is setup for use with Robotron, I mean, why build and arcade controller that cant play the best arcade game ever ( one mans opinion)!!

Is it active all the time?  Or do you have a switch to turn the joy on/off?

I'm in the process of making a dedicated stand-up XBOX Live Arcade machine, and to support the dual-stick shooters I'd have a switch for the Player 2 joystick to act as my P1 shooter stick, via button inputs.

(ps. I agree with the robotron statement.)

The right joystick is live all the time, just wired in parallel to the A B X Y buttons.  Its not player 2 or anything like that.  Just a different way to access the same buttons.  Its all seen as just 1 controller to the Xbox 360.
