I have a problem when running a Pc based game using a short cut through Mala.
The screensaver seems to still kick in behind the scenes in Mala.
This doesn't happen when running Mame but only seems to happen when running games like Mutant Storm or something. I use emumovies as the screensaver and it slows down the game and makes it choppy. If I run the game directly from a shortcut on the desktop I don't get the problem obviously because Mala is off at this point.
Anybody have any ideas on this?
Thanks

Probably best to ask in the MaLa Section ;)
When you say screen saver do you mean Windows screensaver or the Screensaver built into MaLa?
If you mean mala and say you can hear it in the background then perhaps you are mistaking the layout video running in the background?
If this is the case then this bug of layout videos running in the background after you start a game sometimes has been fixed for the next MaLa minor release at the end of the week.

Sorry for the post in the wrong section I haven't been here in a while but I do mean the screen saver in mala and it might be the attract video's or the screen saver built into mala
i'm not sure which but I will try the new release when it comes out.
Thanks,

No idea if loadman's fix applies to you or not, but I believe there is something else that could cause this. I think mala watches the process that it launches, and waits for it to end. It then starts the videos back up and so forth. If whatever mala launches in turn launches a different process, and that first process ends immediately even though the game is playing, mala will think you returned from the game. If that's the case then I guess a solution (if there is one) would depend on the game itself. Hope that's not confusing :dizzy:.

Thanks for the help if I can't get it resolved I will just use a shortcut on the desktop or disable the video's or screensaver. Next week I'll have time and narrow down what the real problem is.
