go into your layout files and see what res the layout is set to in your mamewah folder.

hi,

I have this same problem, when I launch Mamewah, my whole screen starts flickering and I can see the folder of windows, then after a bit, the whole screen goes black.

I have tried reading various forums, and the only thing I can see through the error logs is a Direct X error, yet Direct X is installed, the only thing not working is the sound card, could that be the cause?

Thanks

Yes, if a sound card or it's drivers  aren't  installed it will exit with an error.

Ensure you install the system files and have DirectX installed:

http://mamewah.mameworld.net/downloads.htm

Also make sure you unzip all the files from the Mamewah download, as stuff like layout files etc. are required.

If you still have problems open \mamewah\mamewah.log and read the parts near the bottom for more error specifics.

Possibly a silly question but thought I would ask:

Added mamewah to a new faster computer I am going to swap out of my arcade.  I am in the process of cleaning up the desktop, and all is working great, can I delete the system files, or can do I need to move it to get it off the desktop???

Sorry if elementary but things are working too well right now.

Once installed the system files aren't needed. But you should've just left mamewah inside a folder and made a shortcut to it on the desktop. That would've been cleaner.
