Post by: DaveMMR on October 06, 2008, 02:02:46 pm: Family Guy's funny but they tend to have jokes that run way too long or are repetitive. The Simpsons had one "rake scene" in 19 years, Family Guy has one every week.

Family Guy was killed at the right time the first time around. It was 1/3 lame, 1/3 musicals, 1/3 hilarious. The mix hasn't improved any since its return.

Actually I believe he is a director on the show and used to be one of the lead animators. Hardly "minor".

Not a bad way to make a living is it?

*show still sucks though.

I agree. It might have been funny the first 2 or 3 times, but it got old pretty quick.
The Office Space ripoff made it all worthwhile though. I kinda wanted to do that to my TV.

I agree that the mix on family guy is 1/3 good, 1/3 tolerable and 1/3 crap, but this one did catch me in a good mood i guess.

My only disdain for the show is the excessive musical numbers. The ratio of funny to lame is not good in that aspect, but it did give us comic gold like the "You've got AIDS" song

then dont. either you like it or you dont. you cant force yourself to, and theres no point in doing so. Im that very minor percentage of Family Gy watchers who loves it but can understand that not everyone does.
