anyone else..
looking for plug and play

There are a couple of plug and play options to run Nintendo boards in JAMMA cabs, but I haven't seen one that goes the other way.
About as close to plug and play as you're going to get is to remove the innards from the one side, drop in a normal CGA monitor, power supply and JAMMA harness.
Otherwise, you have to deal with the difference in voltage (Nintendo ~ 100V), video inversion and amplification (Nintendo is amplified off-board, JAMMA is on-board) and wiring harness (I am assuming that you're running a Dualsystem board rather than two Unisystems). I don't think it is as clean a solution as you are looking for.
If I were you, I'd grab a different VS kit to replace the Dr. Mario.

And what he means by that is that you can replace "cartridges" in that Nintendo system. Perhaps there is another game you like better (ExciteBike?). That's your easiest solution.

Yeah, that's what I meant ... replace a handful of socketed chips (no soldering) and presto! New game.

EDIT: Razzafrazzin' SMF won't let me upload my picture ... inserted inline instead.

There's the rub, it has to be a VS game.
http://www.klov.com/game_list.php?letter=V&type=Videogame (scroll down to the end of the list)
And I usually find my VS kits on eBay.

Are you talking a Vs Dual cabinet?

Remember that if you make one side Jamma, you will have a bar rolling through the picture on both monitors. This is due to both monitors having their yokes so close to each other and no longer running from a single CPU clock source.

is there any way to shield against that

Hello, I'm new to this site as well, though I have been lurking here for about two years now (I'm not one to say much) I don't have any experience with these VS systems, however I did a quick search on ebay and quite a few things came up. Shorten Those Links! The only places that I know that you might find these on occasion other than ebay is
Quarter arcade http://www.quarterarcade.com/Default.aspx
Mikes Arcade http://www.mikesarcade.com/arcade/
arcadeshop http://www.arcadeshop.com/
I have bought from mikes arcade and arcadeshop before and both were good to me. I noticed on ebay at the moment there is a castlevania chipset for sell and a hogans ally and also a vs light gun.. personally I would put one of those in there as those are really fun games. Hope this helps and good luck.

Yes, it was detailed in a very old Star Tech Journal issue. You need to install a heavy LEAD shield plate between the two monitors and connect a cabinet frame ground wire to it.

would this be a start??
