Hi all,
I am using MAMEUI32 (v124) and it has been acting up suddenly on a new cabinet.
The cab has a GP-Wiz40 installed and the GWiz has been acting fine with except that it refuses to allow me, while in the config menu of MAME, to make any button/stick changes to mapped keys for: Pause, Config, Exit, other admins... basically, any port from the GP-Wiz40 of slot 16-32 just will do NOTHING in the config menu or game play under MAMEUI32. This is screwy... never seen this issue before.
The Joystick and Player Button remapping goes just fine and I can remap the Pause to a Player Button if needed.. but the hard-wired Pause on the GWiz does not get seen when pressed in MAME. Windows Game Controllers sees the input fine, no errors.
Any ideas?? I have to have this cab ready in less than 2 days for an event and this suddenly just popped up as a major issue.
(side note: I use Joy2Key for daphne and GameEx as the FE, and Daphne -which normally gives me issues- is working fine and the Pause/Admin buttons seem to work fine in Daphne)

Check your wiring. You may have a short... Other than that, open up notepad and see if the keys are working. And as always, check to make sure that things are plugged in nice and tight. Wish I could help you more....

Sadly it's not a wire or 'working' issue as I can see it. The Microswitches work just fine in Windows XP Game Controllers, so it's not the board causing the issue. It must be MAME, somehow.

Just on a lark, go into the INI and CFG directories, and try to manually edit the ini and cfg files in notepad. It may be an issue with MAME not having write access to files in subdirectories.

*Update*
MAMEUI32 v124 does not like the GP-Wiz40. Not sure why this is the case, but I changed to a fully fresh MAMEUI32 v127 and now the MAME program sees the ports higher than 15 (16-40).
Go fig.

MAME 124 doesn't like keyboards? O.o . I have found oddities with running MAME and then plugging in my AxisPad controller. It doesnt accept the controller unless I plugged it in first. That might have been the case with your GGG encoder. (IE MAME didnt recognize it unless it was plugged in before you ran the program)..
Still odd...

Sadly the MAMEUI32 v124 was tested both pre/post plug-in at start.. no effect. The board is still not happy working with this version of MAME. The v127 works fine, as does an older v112 I found I had on hand.

I had the same problems until switching to v127. It's mostly working now with the exception that I cannot choose games from the menu with the joystick (#1). I can get the menu to scroll with joy2, even though it's not set up to do so...very strange...and frustrating.
