Title: What would this part be called at a store?
Post by: tritonarcade on June 13, 2003, 03:07:26 pm
This won't be the first time I have a question like this - I need a metal bracket to mount my speakers that look like this:

|||  <-Speaker mouting hole
--------------
                |         __
                |_____||_  <-- Wood screw

I need this because my speaker is too small to mount where I have the hole cut.  The grill should hide this (luckily).  What would this be called in a hardware store?

Also, how are you all mounting things like power strips into the cab?  Or are they just loose?

not sure ofhand, try www.partsexpress.com.  If you find a speaker the bottom of the product page suggestsd accessories.

I am having a hard time making out your drawing.  I think you are talking about a surround sound speaker wall mount, but I could be mistaken.  As for the powerstrip, it probably depends on where you want or need to the strip to be.  Mine is just sitting on the bottom of my cab, but I have no reason to mount it other than the way it looks.

Actually guys I've decided to just create a new panel with the correct size hole, so I won't need these brackets.  Thanks for your help!

My power strip has notched keyholes on the back- Line up 2 screws, place the strip over it, slide it down and it's secure

My powerstrip has notched holes also, but they were "facing" the wrong way from how I wanted it mounted. I had some heavy duty velcro strips laying around so I stapled a strip to the inside of the cab and attached another to the power strip. Worked very well.
