I am having a frustrating time trying to get disconnects. I've been searching since I started my project at the beginning of August. Nobody seems to have them in stock, or know when they will. I finally found them listed in stock at Parts Express, and so I ordered. I received notification a week later that they are on a 5 week back order.
It's great that I can order the 3/16" disconnects from the US for cheap...if anybody actually HAD them. Is it usually this much trouble?
I sourced a local electronics store that carries the disconnects, but they're asking $22 for 50. That seemed unreasonable when I started, but considering they ACTUALLY HAVE the product they are selling, it's seeming more and more compelling.
Otherwise, what about using a different size disconnect? Does it have to be the 3/16" 18-22 AWG disconnects? I'm imitating Delusional and using Cat 5 cable to wire my CP. Can I use .25" or 14-18 AWG disconnects? Those seem to be more readily available. Failing that, I'm tempted to solder the bloody mess.

Those aren't the fancy fully insulated or heat shrink insulated type that I prefer, but the price is right at $5 for 100. They crimp just fine and hold pretty well.
