Title: Help with my order list..Newbie warning
Post by: slasherman on September 26, 2008, 11:47:36 am
First I'm going to clean inside (the electronic stuff) a real arcade marchine. What do I need and where can I buy it cheap ? I live in Norway. I also want to buy parts to an multi emulator marchine mainly the stuff I need for controll panel and all the way from the controll panel to the pc. The buttons, joystick and the wiring.
This is what I have come up with so far:
- Ultimarc MagStik Plus - (1 pcs)
- Happ pushbuttons with cherry microswitches (8 pcs) I dont gonna have pinball buttons
- Generic pushbuttons with light for pause and exit (2 pcs)
- Ultimarc Mini-PAC Encoder (I need all the wiring)
- I need a good spinner

I have not come up with anything on cleaning the electric stuff in a real arcade. Can I order all these things in one place ? Since I live in Norway it gonna be taxes on the order so maybe I spare some money on ordering all the things in one package.
Here is my real arcade marchine by the way it's a Wonderboy

Since you want the Ultimarc stick and encoder, why not just order it all from them (http://www.ultimarc.com/)?

Another option would be Groovy Game Gear (http://www.groovygamegear.com). They seem to have all of the parts you need. While they aren't the Ultimarc sticks/encoder, I hear great things on this forum. It sounds like their spinner is tops. I'll probably be ordering a lot from them in the coming months.

Then again, there is always ebay (http://www.ebay.com) ;D

Just something to keep in mind - the U360 isn't all THAT much more then a MagStick Plus.  For what your going to be spending in shipping, taxes, etc., it might be more worthwhile to just go with he U360.  Depending on your button needs, you may be able to just use the inputs on the U360 instead of needing a keyboard encoder also.

Just my opinion...I was considering going the MagStick plus route, but with the balltop it's almost the same cost as the U360...
