Just to complete my collection I need only the original MK3. I do not want Ultimate as I already have 1 in my cabinet and the other on Ebay.
-
I have been looking for one of the regular MK3 boards for years. Your best bet is to end that UMK3 auction and have a rom burning service flash them back to MK3 for you.
Edit... Here is the link that Malenko helped me out with. Hobby Roms was the company he recommended.

beat me to it, I was gonna post hobbyroms.com for him too lol
I still need to order the extra MKII revisions as well. save yourself some cheddar and buy a bunch at once.

i did not think of that I'm waiting for him to send me a rom for my MK1 U105 that is bad. Thanks guys

ctozzi, dont mean to hijack in any way but since you're a collector of the MK series I figured I'd ask. Have you ever heard of the Turbo, sometimes called Kombo edition of MK1? Here's some info: http://www.vm68.com/mkromhacks/mk_kombo.html
I remember playing this version at a Mr Gattis when I was younger. I always loved it because there was little recoup time from uppercuts and Subby's iceball made you float. Have you ever seen this?
@ Malenko/testicle187, will HobbyRom's be able to do something like this for an MK1 board?
-
I've been looking for that rom upgrade for a while now, I did not think to ask hobbyroms about that either. I'll shoot hima an email and let ya know.
-
Cool. I always wondered why it was never dumped either (to my knowledge). They've got all of the MK2 hacks and so on, but Ive never found that ROM.
-
email sent it seems like a simple rom removal, i'll let ya know what happens.

Here is his response on the MK1 turbo:
Chris,
If you look closely at the picture on the site,
there appears to be an additional daughter card for this hack
http://www.vm68.com/mkromhacks/Kombo1.jpg
Assuming I can find the correct eprom image to program,
without this daughter card, I doube very much it would work.
If you want this turbo upgrade, I'm afraid you may have to buy a PCB
that already has this hack.
Sorry....,
Steph

Ouch. :dizzy:
Well, thanks for checking ctozzi.

I talked with the guys at Hobbyroms, and they say they can flash the roms back to MK3, but the UMK3 security chip (the one with the bar code) can not be flashed. You have to get an original MK3 security chip or the newly flashed roms will be useless.

ok, i guess we will fight over the worlds only mk3 pcb when someone has it for sale.
