Title: Does a Killer Instinct 2 arcade have an Isolation Transformer?
Post by: maxbruteforce on September 24, 2008, 08:03:22 pm
I don't know much about arcades and monitors but I need a new monitor for my KI2 arcade and there's one on ebay.  It says that I need and isolation transformer, and i was wondering if the KI 2 dedicated cab has one.

Thanks

the orig killer instinct has a monitor winding on the game xformer. http://www.crazykong.com/manuals/KillerInstinct.man.pdf

it would be a reasonable assumption the newer unit does as well .  or , unless user modified .....

its on ebay .  so , ask the seller   ;D

well im not sure what all that means, does that mean the original KI has an isolation transfomer? I read that the KI2 cab is pretty much the same as the original Ki cab.

yes, see page 39 @  http://www.crazykong.com/manuals/KillerInstinct.man.pdf

per this page , all game pwr IS isolated from the AC mains .
even the smps is connected via a secondary winding ....  although a bit redundant there
