Title: Which is best: acrylic w/ar or polycarbonate w/ar?

I've seen this question asked a lot but every one seems to be comparing standard acrylic sheets to standard polycarbonate sheets. For my cp I plan on getting something with an abrasion resistant coating on it and it's either going to be polycarbonate or acrylic.

So if they both will resist scratches equally which one should I be looking at?






And do we have a sticky on how to cut, drill, route, both?

Anyone? I'm about to pull the trigger and I really don't want to waste $100 on something that I wont be able to route, drill, etc.

Polycarbonate (Lexan) is easier to work with, but doesn't resist scratches as well, and isn't quite as clear.

Acrylic (Plexiglas) is harder, but will shatter if you do the wrong things to it.
You need to cut it REALLY slow with your saw, and drill slow with light pressure.
Don't try to cut acrylic in a metal shear.
Don't drop acrylic, or throw it across the room.
And lastly don't get mad at it, and hit it with a hammer.
