Post by: G1zm0 on September 24, 2008, 09:57:53 am
hi im about to install my uhid ive had for few months now,

has anyone instaled one? its got 6 headers of 9 pins i take it pin 9 is gnd and the others are signal wires?

set up- 2 joysticks, 3 admin buttons, coinmech credit and credit button 2, 12 buttons and trackball (beatson)

so with set1 do i .

connect the joys switches to pins 1 2 3 4, the grounds to ground, the other 4 pins to player buttons 1234, and so on for all remaining items?

and  daisy chain all the grounds and use the software to config the keys?

also how do i do the trackball?

i understand it takes leds to, how do i connect them to it? and do they  just illuminate or can they flash?
and the coin mach does the uhid accept a 12v pulse or just 5v?

** i got harness with it to, but i need another, can i just use floppy cable  for pin header?

All addressed at the u-hid site (http://www.u-hid.com/) (suggest start here (http://www.u-hid.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=12&Itemid=5)).  Also, use the U-CONFIG utility will help show what pin is set to what in/out-put.

Just my 2 cents:
The U-HID is very configurable.  You can set any pin to any input/output (almost).  But use the defaults when you can.

For digital inputs just: decide if you want keyboard or gamepad, use the default gnd and digital input pins, daisy chain the gnds like normal, and set up with U-CONFIG.  But...

The optical interface (ie trackball) is one of the things that is limited to which pins it can use.  So use the U-CONFIG to see which pins you can use before you wire the above digital inputs.

Good luck and let us know how it goes.
