Post by: skyblast on September 24, 2008, 12:13:48 am
2) copy MalaLayoutConverter.exe into the "C:\Emulators\Mala\" folder

Where can I find this "malalayout converter.exe" to move to the mame folder?

I am trying to follow the mala install tutorial

Thanks

The tutorial says easy but this is the 4th random item I've had to hunt down??

The other 3 items you had to hunt down are not Mala specific.  They are Mame specific and are maintained by other people for all front ends:

catver.ini
controls.ini
history.dat

The tutorial says its easy because it is.  See how easy it was to click on the links that were provided to you.  :laugh2: Seriously when you asked for them, I googled and found them in less than five minutes.   The contents and location of these files can change frequently.

Sorry, meant no insult by that.  I'm just a super newbie who is clueless.  I'm sure a lot of work went into putting all of this together.

No, No, No...I'm not insulted; I was just making a little joke (hence the laughing icon).  My humor can be a little dry and usually doesn't translate well via the keyboard.   I knew what you meant. ;D   I put no work into providing those links.  Loadman is the one that has been working his wombat off on this project.

Being new to this, you probably didn't realize that three of those files pertained to Mame and not Mala even though Mala can use them to make your experience better.  Post away, and I'm sure many here will be able to help.
