Hello All,
I’m new to the site and currently building a cabinet. I’m at the stage now where I have to wire everything. My question is, how do you light a trackball using the power from the PC? I have read that you use one of the extra 4 prong cables that are hanging off the power supply, but how do I connect it to the trackball light? Do I cut the connector off and use one of the wires (red, black, yellow)? Any help or pictures on this would be great. Thanks in advance for your help!

You can use the power from the molex connector (the "extra 4 prong cable") _IF_ you use a correct resistor for your LED. The voltages of the molex are as follows:
red +5V
black GND
yellow +12V

Does your trackball already have lighting installed (i.e. like the Electric Ice from GGG) and you're just wondering how to connect it to the PC? (Not all trackballs have preinstalled lighting).
I assume that this is the case from your statement:
"....but how do I connect it to the trackball light?"
If that's the case, 5v from the USB connection will do it.
Here's what I did using the Electric Ice trackball:
