Title: VPinball - Window Pop Up on Exit
Post by: cmoses on September 23, 2008, 12:24:45 pm
New to Mala, configured it to run VPinball with VPinMAME, launches well and runs well.  When I hit ESC to exit and return to MALA I get a window that pops up and says "Paused" and has two buttons "Quit to Windows" and "Resume Game".  Is there a way around this?  I would like it to just exit and return to the MALA interface.

Any assitance would be greatly appreciated.

You can put closemul in the same folder as vpinball.exe. Then in Mala, set the executable to closemul.exe and the command line to:
vpinball.exe -play -"%path%\%rom%.%ext%"

I saw a few posts to closemul when I searched.  When I downloaded it, and tried to unzip it, it came up as not a vaild zip file.  Can anyone post it or send it to me?

Whenever that happens on an internet download, the following usually works:

Right-click the link to download the file and choose Save Target As...   I don't know why this prevents corrupt downloads, but I think its because the browser handles the download in a different way that prevents the corruption.  In other words, I blame the browser for when the problem you experienced occurs.

Still did not work.  I am trying to download it from here, first Google choice.

Downloads fine, will not unzip.

Ok, I downloaded the file and it opened.  I used both Winrar and 7zip successfully.  I took it to a computer that uses Winzip and it would NOT open it.  I took it to another computer that had none of these, and the built in zip support that Windows XP uses would NOT open it.

The zip file must have been zipped with either winrar or 7zip and an option used that isn't compatible with the other two resources.  In a nutshell, looks like you need to download either Winrar or 7-Zip:

7-zip is free,  Winrar has a free trial.
