Post by: Zeosstud on September 23, 2008, 01:11:15 am
Hoping to get some ideas on what I can do to stop these errors.  Thanks for your time.

It's upset about a sound or your soundcard drivers by the looks of it.

Try disabling should in MaLa and see if that stops it. Then update soundcard drivers or a specific MP3 or WAV. Does it happen at a set time.

PS What version of you using?

I notice the errors are in German. Are you using V1.06?

Loadman,
I am using version 1.05 but dont really know why the log file is in German.  I recently updated, but only by copying the .exe over.  I was getting the errors in 1.04 too, but as you have already let me know, its a driver thing.  I will make some changes and let you know what I find out.

That is OK.

Some of the code may not of re-compiled yet or possibly the bass.dll is the German version.

No big deal.

Yeah try playing with sound drivers.

But I would like to know if it still happens if you disable sound in mala?

Loadman, since he is not using 1.06, could that be the problem?  What version did you first compile with the English language?

1.05

So possibly not all of the code is re-compiled yet as I have not modified some sections yet,  :dunno

Well,
I already had the latest WHQL certified drivers installed.  I went back to an older version but the results were the same.  Got a poker tournament / party this weekend and 2 sets of In-Wall speakers I have to deal with the next 2 days so I cant goof with it to much.  I just changed the .exe back to 1.04, things seem to be working better.  I would be fine with trying version 1.06 if you can provide a link.   More to follow!!

Does it crash with the MaLa Sound disabled?

Does it crash on another machine?

It seems upset with either the Soundcard drivers or the sound you have set mala to play.

Loadman,
Talk about the old college try..  I kept working on that silly machine all night.  I have updated the bios on the Motherboard
uninstalled UltraVNC and stopped a couple of little SoundMax utils that were running in startup.  As of this morning I am VERY happy to
report I had no errors in Mala.  It has been awhile since that was true.  I wish I could be more specific about what might have been the
issue but I cant, I am currently just happy its not an issue anymore.  I dont have any sounds enabled in Mala and never have actually,
These issues only started when I replaced my old P4 arcade cabinet pc with a shiny new Core2 box, no question in my mind the issues
were on my end.  I will continue to let you know how it goes and might even try to add some stuff back into the mix and see if I can reproduce
the issue, but for now, I am just happy.
