Title: Thoughts on This PC Setup
Post by: web.geek on September 22, 2008, 07:50:46 pm
I was going to use an old Celeron 633 with 256 RAM (maximum allowed) and no AGP/PCI-E that I had lying around, but I found the following at Fry's Electronics (http://www.frys.com):

* ECS 945GCT-M/1333 Mobo w/ Pentium Dual-Core E2200 CPU ($79.99)
* ATI Radeon x1050 256MB DDR2 PCI-E DVI/TV-OUT ($37.99)
* 1GB - PC6400/800MHz DDR2 RAM ($29.99)

Thoughts? Is it overkill/underpowered? Will a 300W PSU be sufficient?

If I use a 27" tube SDTV (http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=9856472) that has S-Video and Component inputs, should I get an s-video to component adapter or will straight s-video be sufficient?

The components are descent but the I would go at least a 450 on the psu.
