Title: Where to buy the last few pieces?
Post by: predator314 on September 22, 2008, 02:17:10 pm
I am in the midst of my first build.  On my control panel, I want to go with the seemingly standard layout of 2 8 ways with 6 buttons each, trackball, spinner, and a 4 way joystick.  I have my 8 ways and buttons, but I'm still needing to order a trackball, spinner, and 4 way joystick.

I know I would like to have a trackball with a USB interface.

I want a 4 way joystick with 4 way action (like donkey kong, pacman, etc).

I haven't researched spinners yet.  I'm assuming you can get a USB option for it as well without havnig to get an Optipac type interface.

I looked a Happ controls and their prices seem outrageous.  I also checked out Groovy Gear which I found by searching the forums.  Their prices seem much more reasonable.  However, I'm confused on their joysticks.  They say they have 4 or 8 way action, but does that mean that it restricts the movement to 4 ways instead of the full 8 or just the functionality of the stick?

I like the looks of the Electric ICE-T trackball  (http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=74&products_id=270)

I assume the Turbo Twist 2 spinner (http://groovygamegear.com/webstore/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=86&products_id=268) is OK too?

Which joystick would you recommend from GGG with 4 way action?

Would I be better off dealing with someone else than GGG?  They seem to get good reviews from people on this board and that's why I looked up their inventory.
