Title: How do you create your own MaLa intro videos?
Post by: Gatsu on September 20, 2008, 12:33:16 pm
I've got MaLa up and running with a custom street fighter theme I made the other day. Got the background music picked and running, now just need a spiffy intro movie.

I've got several video editors like Premiere and Vegas. But what format, size and all that does the video need to be? Just whatever I have MaLa running at?

ok...I got that figured out.

But I have an issue I need help with. I've got the intro video playing fine, but the background music is drowning out the intro video music. Any way to delay the background music until the intro video finishes?

Hi.

It is a known bug.

It should be straight forward for me to fix and is on my list for the next release.  ;)

Once I got a video rendered into an .avi file, I reset maLa's config file so its supposedly the 1st startup.

Went to the GUI tab, then MaLa start, checked the "Play video on MaLa start" button, directed it to the video address, then just hit Ok.

FYI.  Just right click then pick 'options' with the mouse to get config window back up again  ;)

have an odd problem. configured MaLa on my mame pc instead of my desktop (where I was testing it out). And got everything working now, but the video plays alot slower now than when it did on my desktop.

The video plays fine outside of MaLa, but when MaLa starts the video gets really slow and the audio gets out of sync. Takes almost 3 minutes to get through a minute long vid.

More ram?

I would check your codec on the second machine.

Try XVID codec and no other like divx is on that cab.

Have a search of this forum. There are a few posts about it   ;)

I'll upload it for public use once I get it 100% to  my liking. Its a really simple 1 screen layout for just mame right now. Street Fighter themed. But I wanna make it a fighter cabinet with all the best fighters on NeoGeo, Dreamcast, PS2 (once I can make some ISOs from my collection), and Mame.

I'm also later on gonna try to find a naomi gd-rom setup and get Ikaruga and a few others. Any japanese fighters or shooters I absolutely love.
