Title: Looking for extension cord w/ super-flat grounded plug
Post by: jasonbar on September 18, 2008, 02:42:20 pm
Howdy-

I just got married & I'm cramming my desk, the wife's desk, & my big fat arcade game into a pretty tiny office.

If I want to be able to shoehorn myself into my office chair, I really do need every last inch of space that I can get.

So, the arcade game & the desk must be plugged into short extension cords that have super low-profile wall plugs (3-prong, grounded).

A quick search netted a couple of options.  This 3' one looks good: http://electrical.hardwarestore.com/12-33-air-conditioner-cords/extension-cord-607563.aspx

But, seeing as it's an air conditioner cord, it's got pretty beefy gauge wire & insulation on it.

So, I found this one, which looks more promising, though 7' is a bit long, but oh well: http://www.thecollegetoolbox.com/prco2fl7whec.html

Any recommendations or experience with specific products to check out?

Thanks,
-Jason

I would use an air conditioner cord and power bar.

Hands down White Powersquid Surge protector MSRP $69.95 (Shop around) (http://www.powersquid.com/). I use the blacks regularly with my older APC USPS.

Thanks for the suggestions--I guess I wasn't clear on what I need/want.

I already have power strips/surge protectors/etc.  I just need the flattest possible grounded wall plug w/ a short extension cord to get my bulky strips plugged into the wall while still cramming furniture up against that wall.

Thanks,
-Jason
