I'm assuming someone out there is running Smash TV with two 360's...
How do you configure this to happen? :dizzy:
I've looked at the Input (this game) options when running the game, but it seems to only list the controls for 8 options for Player 1 and 8 options for Player 2....
Can someone explain how they made this work?
-
Smash TV, Total Carnage, Robotron, and a handful of others used two sticks. The controls for player one will be labeled as LEFT/UP, LEFT/DOWN, LEFT/LEFT, LEFT/RIGHT, RIGHT/UP, RIGHT/DOWN, RIGHT/LEFT, and RIGHT/RIGHT. The first part of each of these directions indicates the stick to be used. LEFT/UP means LEFT stick (player 1 side), direction UP. Make sense?

I had to read it a couple of times to get it through the thickness of my skull, but it does make sense! I have Smash TV up and running now with two joysticks!
When you set values in Input (this game) in MAME, how do you set multiple values for an item. For instance, set a button to "I" or JOY Left?
-
Press enter (or whatever you have mapped to allow you to edit the button function), then press I. Without moving off that function, hit enter again, and now hit JOY LEFT.

GV - OK, that works - thanks for all the help!

Robotron rocks with two u360s ;D

Hell yeah, much better than playing with microswitch-based sticks.

But plays better with two P360s.

Yep, I'd have to agree with that statement. I have an original Robotron in my basement, and if my Wicos ever bite the dust, the P360s would most likely be my replacement solution. I like my U360s fairly well, but they don't feel anything like original Wicos like the P360s do.

This was a total 'read the mame info' thread. Anyways.....

But is that an authenticity thing only, or do they actually play better? The throw of P360s is probably twice as far as the Wicos.

I have both joys, and even with the medium stiffness spring, the P360 feels more authentic, and I can get better scores with them. Of course, I do also have Kowal's actuators on them as well...

For me it is more of a spring tension issue. Wicos with good condition grommets are much, much stiffer than the U360s with a medium spring. The P360 spring tension is much closer to the feel of the Wico sticks. Robotron is not meant to be played with light sticks IMO. Your forearms should be burning and your wrists should be sore after a good 5-10 million point game!
