Hi all,
I'm having trouble running the Colecovision emulator under the MESS emu. It keeps saying that the coleco.rom file is not found. I have it in my correct rom directory. I've tried it zipped as coleco.rom (with coleco.rom inside the archive) and also the unzipped coleco.rom file by itself. None work. I've tried about 4 different versions of the coleco.rom file to no avail. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
Quick note: I've also tried VColecoWin_211a and it works fine with the coleco.rom I am using, so I'm pretty sure the coleco.rom file I am using is fine. But I'd like it to work in the MESS emu.
Any ideas?
P.S. - I set up my directories in MESS to point to the correct rom folder for Colecovision.

MESS looks default for it's system roms in the ROMS folder. The filename of the romset should match that of the setname/System being emulated. In this instance, your coleco.rom, provided it matches the CRC that MESS requires, must be in a .ZIP called "coleco.zip" (coleco is the setname for the console) and placed in your ROM folder. Once you do that, should work fine.

Yeah,
I've tried that. ;) I zipped the file up in a file called coleco.zip, which is the correct filename that MESS needs.
However, I'm having trouble matching up the CRC for the version of Mess that I'm running (v 0.122) and I suspect that's what the problem is. The trouble is, I have no clue on how to use CLRMAMEPRO to convert it.
Anyone have any ideas?

I do not know anything about CRC vs version stuff , but my coleco.zip file is in my MESS "bios" folder ....... ;)

MESS versions earlier than 0.112 have "BIOS" as the default folder for all those system roms needed for the consoles/computers. The change to "ROMS" was largely to keep consistent with MAME.
As for your the CRC problem, CLRMAMEPRO will not 'fix' it - you need a matching copy of what MESS requires. CLRMAMEPRO can only fix something if it's contained in another romset archive or somewhere else in your scanning path. As for finding a copy of this, a little effort and the right search terms in Google should find this easily..

Uncle T,
I'm curious as to what version of MESS you are running. I think I may just update to the latest version to see if it clears the problem on my end.
