You don't work where I do.

Well if you work at a place that you would get busted for that, you probably shouldn't be on forums at all.

What was NSFW about that?

It doesn't matter what you don't see, it's enough for a boss to walk by (or another employee) and have them say, "Uhhh...what are you doing?"

It doesn't matter what you don't see, it just takes someone to complain to HR that what you had on your screen offended them.

But seriously, I would expect nothing less from people on forums.

It doesn't even have to offend someone.  It just has to give someone the feeling you may be enjoying yourself in some way.  In a corporate environment fun is strictly forbidden.

Isn't it more about how your coworkers will look at you after they see what they think you were wanting to see on your PC screen. It's not really about offending them, (sometimes it is) but more of you not wanting others you work with looking at you in a specific way and judging you based on what you were looking at.

It has very little to do with that.  It has everything to do with them reporting you to HR and HR putting you on probation or worse in overreaction to someone possibly viewing pr0n in the workplace.

Chad nailed it. Hemi, you were WAY off. I don't care if anyone thinks I'm a degenerate. (I happen to sit next to my wife at work, by the way) There are just some things that aren't appropriate at work. (And according to most sexual harrassment guidelines, you can get in trouble if the wrong employee sees that on your screen)

I'm talking about in a big workplace where you do not know everyone and everyone is not your friend. I know you don't care what your friends or your wife thinks of you, cause they already know all there is to know. I'm talking about other professionals, men and woman you never met before. I think that kinda puts my view a bit in the range of being a factor, too.

When you see some guy or gal passing by looking at you like "what the hell is this guy looking at" you might feel differently when it's not your girl friend.

Maybe the part where I said I don't care what people think didn't sink in. I know you can't grasp that concept because that's ALL you care about.

I don't.

I would think being fired or on probation would be higher on my list of fears then being disliked by a few people.

WARNING - NSFW - You were warned.

For the record, *I* think Ginsu Victim is a degenerate and *I* know that he doesn't care.

I am CheffoJeffo and I approve this message(tm).

There is a lot of irony in someone whining like an easily offended woman, over the original post.

I just wanted to point that out.

So I did.

MUNTER!

We all know that at any workplace, the sole reason why we are paid is to not do our actual work, and to browse the web. I mean, really, that IS why they give you a computer that is hooked to the web!

Ok, kidding aside:

Work = work

freetime = freetime

web forums about arcade nostalgia = freetime activity.

GET TO WORK PEOPLE!

ps I would make a comment about lazy Americans, but it isnt applicable to Ginsu...

Unless something just went over my head (it's always possible), I'm a fat, lazy American. Hell, I'm from a red state and voted for Bush.

haha.. I thought that thread was excellent :)  I would've probably contributed to it myself..  The guy was being an ass demanding that they fix his photo and in a hurry.  I really didn't see any white spots that he was referring to and as far as the dark corners.. well he could just crop the picture to be rid of them.

EDIT* wow! looks like everybody got banned! what kind of forum Nazis run that place?

My setup does not support punched chads.

I really didn't see any white spots that he was referring to and as far as the dark corners..

You have to use a blacklight filter to see the white spots.

Seriously, did someone hit the forum with stupid gas last night?  It seems to have been widespread.
