so i'm using an octagonal restrictor for my ultrastik 360, and my center is off. it moves in a slight circular motion with stick rotation, but that's to be expected. but it usually looks something akin to:

my problem is that i'm trying to create a custom restrictor setting in the ini file like this:
# This is the Ultimarc.ini file
UltraStikIniFileFormatVersion=1.0
AutoScanForUltraStiks=True
UltraStiksRequired=1,3
UltraStiksLastPluggedIn=3,4
UltraStik1Restrictor=4/8
UltraStik2Restrictor=Circular
UltraStik3Restrictor=Custom:6,Octagonal
UltraStik4Restrictor=Custom:9
but when i go to load it i'm still only left with 4/8, circular, and custom(9) as options. what gives? the stick is great but in mario 64 i can't hit full analog deflection in every direction... this is becoming very frustrating.
also it would be nice if ultramap had a calibrating feature... hit calibrate and spin the stick in place... maybe a 5 second count, and then it finishes, with your center calibrated to an average of the sensed center (with play)
anyway, does anyone know what's going on with my custom restrictor settings?

oops this should have gone in software... how do i delete this?
-
Don't worry about it. If it belongs in another forum, the mods just move it eventually.
Is your magnet sitting straight or crooked?
-
magnet's sitting as flat as possible... i did rotate it and notice the slightest wobble, due to a small imperfection where the magnet seats to the stick. i would try to dremel it out a little but it has been my experience that things like this only get worse the more you try to correct them. :(

well i've managed to dremel the holes on the 360's PCB down and left, so as to offset the centering. (not what i wanted to do, but oh well)
it now hovers somewhere more centerish. but i still can't hit the extremes. i understand that it can't physically get there due to the plate, but isn't that what the restrictor settings are for in the options? i thought these nulled out the difference and still gave a full analog deflection, but with less throw.
i can't complain too much cause this is still a great stick for mame, but i guess i'm getting greedy wanting to run N64 and a few PC games with my machine.
