Title: What do you use to touch up a side panel on a restoration?
Post by: javeryh on September 11, 2008, 12:24:29 pm
I am contemplating restoring an arcade cabinet in the coming months (it needs a lot of work) and I'm wondering what to use to seal the wood/fill any holes, etc. after I sand the entire thing down...

Bondo?
Wood Putty?
Spackle?
Something else entirely?

I'll be applying 2-4 coats of primer before painting so I think that will "seal" the surface so I guess I'm mainly concerned with dents and holes and things like that.  I was leaning towards bondo unless I'm missing something obvious...

Thanks!

Are you talking about huge gashes or like small screw holes?  Or some of each?

Some of each I guess.  I haven't picked up the cab yet but I imagine it's not perfect...
