I've recently started using PSXemulator and can't get the music working in either Ridge Racer/ RR Revolution. I originally had rips where all the music was removed but I've managed to find ones with the complete music set. However, no matter how I try to compile them I still cannot get the music working. The files are .bin with the .cue sheets and all mp3's present but no matter what I do I only get sound effects; no music.
Any ideas?

bin and cue with MP3s? burn the first one as a data layer, then add the rest as normal CD audio tracks

The MP3s typically burn as standard CD audio.

i dont think he's burning it, I think hes mounting it and its not converting the MP3 to red book audio. the music in that game sucked anyway :-)

That's the way to do it. If your after an image just burn it as a virtual disc. Nero, Alchol etc will do this. Better of just DL'in on of the "official US/PAL Dump sets" they are all 1:1's of psx disc's. Rotterdam Nation sounds just poo after being mp3'd to 128kbs!

I think I had the same problem you are describing. Turns out pSX (great emu but what a bad name!) is hardcoded to look for audio in the first available CD drive. I was able to fix it by changing my virtual cd settings so that the drive letter came first over the physical DVD drive. For example: if D: and E: are for your DVD burner and virtual cd drive respectively, then change your letter assignments so that D: is your virtual drive.
From there on I was able to mount cd images with cd audio tracks and pSX would play them just fine.
