Any idea's?
Already tried a heat gun.
Not coming off good with it! :banghead:
-
i forgot the name of this stuff I used by I think it's called contractor solvent. It's orange and smells like citrus. I went to use it on some side art. I sprayed it on and when I came back with the heat gun the sideart scraped away with an old bank cark. I'm sure if you used that with a heat gun your life would get easier
-
I have something like that.
I will try it tomorrow.
I thought it was just good to use on paint?
Thanks so much!
-
It's called Citristrip, leave it on overnight.

Slow going, isn't it?
You could stick the cab in the sun for an hour. See if that makes it easier to peel.

Damn Right!
I live in South Carolina,
Usually it is sunny and hot!
This week cloudy and overcast! :(

Do it like you do your metal control panels.
FIRE!
-
I have always used a heat gun. Takes a while. The key is to not heat it to the point that it rips easily... it will curl up but still stay strong enough to pull on without ripping.

Is that just straight black vinyl, or is it painted over? If it is just vinyl, you should not have had any problems with a heat gun. That stuff comes off super easy when warmed up.
-
Someone recommended magic erase for something. Might work here?

Not unless you want to use 6500 of them. ;D A Magic Eraser is a lot like wetsanding with 2000grit.

FIRE!
:laugh2: Fire is not good to use in all situations.

It is straight black vinyl.
This stuff comes off in tiny pieces. No matter how you warm it up!
It is on the front of the machine too.

I thought it was a type of solvent in a bottle or something. He said it would take off graphics so I thought it might soften up the vinyl.

Magic Eraser is an extruded melamine. It resembles a white foam block. You use it wet. When you scrub the fibres act as an abrasive. It's quite effective, actually.

Even more so when you read the directions and use a wetting agent! ;)
( I sanded dry on a 2" area for like an hour to get the results of 30 seconds with a wetting agent.)

What he left out is that he was dry humping a Charlie's Angels. ;D

There are much worse pins out there to dry hump...

You know you want to hear a Fathom in the background while you do it.

By the way, I used the Orange Stripper Solvent.
Worked like a charm!
Thanx ! :)

Did you have to dry hump the stripper or did you use a wetting agent?

Did you have to dry hump the stripper or did you use a wetting agent?
I saw that one coming from a mile away!

Usually they let you get a little closer than that.
-
I have to say, I got a little over-excited last night with my wetting agent and broke thru to bare wood. I would say I hope I didn't get the machine pregnant, but it isn't illegal to sell off baby pins. ;D
-
Oh, and congrats on getting your sides stripped.
-

Even though I can sell 'em, it still ain't legal to steal 'em. You better have that back on my porch by the time I get home!

It was shivering in a box and had no batteries. Take care of your pins and other people won't have to.
