Title: K7000 neck board help!!!!
Post by: Oni2382 on September 06, 2008, 11:26:15 pm
What's up everyone?.

I need a little help with the cap kit I'm doing on the WGK7000 chassis.  On the neck board I am replacing Cap C204. However, on the board their is no distinction for polarity (+  or -)  could SOMEONE please point me in the correct direction. Every other cap on the main chassis has the + marked except C204 one the neck board.  I downloaded the PDF manual and that has no distinction either. I managed to replace the other caps successfully and I won't put this last cap in until I know the correct placement. I carelessly removed the cap without looking at how it was oriented, a valuable lesson learned. Thanks for any and all help.

take a quick look at the foil side of the board .
the neg side of the cap connects to gnd .
the pos side will have a trace to p202 pin 3 and to a common side of R207,8,9.

the cap is the rgb decoupling/filter for the driver pwr supply

Early production k7000 did not have an electrolytic capacitor there. It was a ceramic disc type. The manuals didn't show it since it was one of those "production improvements" Wells is known for. The only place I was able to find it shown on a schematic was the 25k7191 schematic.
